Long time not seen, I know, again a few days since I’ve written you anything, but again a really nice report from me on Monday. What have we been up to???
Well, on Friday we went to Nottingham. After the first disappointment of the Tales of Robin Hood being shut down, we went to Nottingham castle. This was another brilliant castle in row. This time I was being clever and bought a guide tour, because I really wanted to know what I was walking in. The castle itself is impressing, but when you get to the thousand of exhibitions (a bit exaggerated but well …) you are even more impressed than you were went entering the castle. I was so down because I couldn’t read it all, because that would take me like … 5 hours to do it all but I got the main idea, so no worries there.
After the castle we went to the court house to an attraction called Crime and Punishment. I was really terrified now, after my last dark tour, but it turned out to be quit all right. It was rather funny but interesting. I learned a lot that day, and I got to sniff a bit of the medieval atmosphere in prisons. I liked it very much how they displayed the change in treating convicts and the way prisons have changed over years. It was really fun to see and everything was worked out so well they got me silent (now that’s got to mean something). What I will remember for ever was a certain scène in our visit. At a certain point we had to meet the prison guard who would explain us all the rules to bear in mind when entering the prison. He was waving his whip and said “You will do as I say” on which Tanja silently replied: “Oh that’s kind of kinky”. We all got the giggles and the man had to do everything not to get out of his role. And even blamed us for it!
After this, we had a little exploring of the town (read: shopping) and went home afterwards, where Evi was going to make us the lovely pasta with salmon and cream. It was so lovely that I almost overate myself (is that possible I can see you thinking, and the answer is : YES). After dinner we went to the pub again (Blame Vermeulen who said we needed to do cultural exploration….) We had a lot of fun there as everyone decided to tell embarrassing sex stories. How can you not have fun??? I will not go into detail about what has been said, as we all solemnly swore this would not leave the Leicester Bunch!
This weekend we haven’t done much actually. After a long working day, we decided to go to Borders

Sunday came and it had the same news as Saturday: work your but off! Although, I must admit that I have personally learned a lot about Belgium, while preparing our Belgian project for Travel and Tourism. I mean, did you know we have a patron saint as well?? It’s Joseph (Jozef)! We learned a lot even we didn’t know, but hey, let me guide you to Bruges or Brussels, I know all the hotspots now!
We saw a scary movie that evening, and Tanja “I WANT TO SEE A SCARY MOVIE

Today first day of teaching. The first period was the most exiting one, as I would be teaching French and it has been three years since I’ve actually spoken French, but well, all turned out very well and I managed. I even liked the fact that the carousel work was going so splendid. It was the first time I tried it out in real life and I must admit that I’m even more fond of it than before!

Than we had the theoretical part of P.E.

Then the busy meeting lunchtime. I was capable of being at multiple places, although I was only at one. Hey, isn’t this a mind twist? We finally got some lessons fixed that we weren’t sure we would get!
This evening we were out on our own again as Molly and Dave went of once more. She did however prepare dinner for us: chicken in white wine sauce with peppers (paprika voor de ezels die denken dat ik klare pepers heb gegeten!)and string beans with nicely cooked potatoes.

Now we are going to work some more , business as usual ...
Love to hear from you all soon!
